There is a world of resources for Hamlet out there, so this list barely scratches the surface. That said, here are some of the types of resources I normally share, to enhance your experience of Hamlet:
- Hamlet resources, character map, and infographic from Course Hero.
- The Royal Shakespeare Company has excellent resources, synopsis, and information about Hamlet.
- Take your pick: video synopses from Thug Notes, CliffsNotes, and Finger Puppet Shakespeare.
- Several full productions of Hamlet are available for free on YouTube, including Laurence Olivier’s 1948 version, a 2018 production from Shakespeare’s Globe (available through Sunday, April 19), a 2002 version with Adrian Lester as Hamlet, and a BBC radio drama version with Kenneth Branagh as Hamlet. Search “Hamlet full production” on YouTube to see others.
Thanks for Dan Hainsworth for letting us use his Shakespeare icons, as shown above right.
