I’ve never studied nor heard of Pericles before and now I’m truly engaged in reading it! I love the presentation and the enthusiasm of Doctor Hamlet!
Jess Hamlet’s three “pegs” on which to hang our reading will be very helpful. The idea of the pirates as “deus ex machina” is particularly interesting; I’ll enjoy looking out for their role in solving problems.

Great intro to the geo-historical context, the Romance genre, Shakespeare’s co-author and the big questions to ask while reading. I’d take your Shakespeare class any day!
