Thank you Professor Hizme. You remind me of a production I saw in April 2016. I don’t remember which scene — maybe I will when I read the play — but there was a point where I had a visceral feeling that I was at a Trump rally.
Interesting and convincing parallels between then and now! And I appreciate your guidance as to the psychological tricks (or techniques) which Richard uses. I look forward to re-reading the wooing scene and looking more carefully at how he wins over a woman who so blatantly hates him at the start.
