Romeo and Juliet: Video Introduction

Lenny Banovez holds an MFA from the Professional Actor Training Program (PATP) under Jack Young at Ohio University and a BA in Theater Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. As an actor and director and educator Lenny has worked with: The Kennedy Center, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, PCPA Theaterfest, Renaissance Theaterworks, Milwaukee Chamber Theater, Hyperion Theater Project NYC, Texas Shakespeare Festival, Virginia Shakespeare Festival, Milwaukee Shakespeare, Huron Playhouse, The Secret Theatre NYC, Hedgepig Ensemble Theatre NYC, Monomoy Theatre on Cape Cod, and as a guest artist at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. TITAN credits include: JULIUS CEASAR, THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST and MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, as well as directing productions of HAMLET, KING LEAR, ROMEO & JULIET, HENRY V, TAMING OF THE SHREW, MACBETH and MEDEA. Lenny is the Artistic Director of both TITAN Theatre Company and Repertory Theatre in Holland, Michigan.

  1. I appreciate the suggestion that “it need not have ended like that”. This is a new way to think about R & J, for me. I tended to accept that of course it’s a tragedy; that’s how they end. But I can see now that the tragic element consists in the fact that it could have been handled so differently.
